Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra Holiday Concert Features Music Telling Stories
Come celebrate the Holidays by attending the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra concert on Sunday, December 11 at 4:00PM at Freedom Hall, 410 Lakewood Blvd. in Park Forest, Illinois. The three ensembles, Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra, Incredible Opportunity Program, and Suburban Youth Strings will perform.
SYSO group, directed by Benjamin Leonard White will perform eclectic selection of pieces related to stories such as Sleeping Beauty, the Polar Express, Sherlock Holmes and many more. “The concert will be a wonderful celebration of these stories as we all gather and add to our own holiday stories” noted White.
Incredible Opportunity students, who have been studying violin, viola, or cello, just since September, will have their very first performance.
The Suburban Youth Strings ensemble under the direction of Emily Lewis Mantell will perform works of Verdi, Leroy Anderson, and the classic English carol, “We Saw Three Ships.”
Price of admission is $5.00 or simply bring a book with you to donate to the Jones Community Center.
The Suburban Youth Symphony is a 503c not for profit orchestra that serves children 8-17 in the south/southwest region by providing an opportunity to play string, orchestral, and chamber music.
