Special Needs Seminar
On Saturday November 21, 2009, Family Time
Magazine held its first annual Special Needs Seminar. The focus of this
event was to help families find the answers they are looking for to heal
their children on the Autism Spectrum. The Seminar featured 14
expert guest speakers, 80 exhibitors and over 400 attendees. This years
seminar will expand to include Autism as well as products and services
available for all special needs children.
Please visit the
Autism Society. The information below is from their website.
Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears
during the first two years of life and is the result of a neurological
disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, impacting
development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills.
Both children and adults on the autism spectrum typically show
difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social
interactions, and leisure or play activities.
Autism is one of five disorders that fall under the umbrella of
Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), a category of neurological
disorders characterized by “severe and pervasive impairment in several
areas of development.”

What a wonderful premier event! The Special Needs Seminar was a
great coming together of families and professionals. The day
was finely tuned, well organized and perfectly executed. It
was my pleasure to participate in your first Special Needs Seminar.
Hats off to you and the entire Family Time Team!

Dear Family Time Magazine,
Great Job and congrats on a informative seminar. I even
had an indivdual that attended my presentation say that it
should be promoted more and more needed to hear the
information. I would look forward to speaking next year and
having CME's available.
Happy Holiday

The seminar was very informative and interesting. I was a
little surprized (pleasantly) at the wide variety of vendors
and participants. Thank you for all of your help with this
event.

I wanted to thank you for a fantastic seminar this
weekend. I was able to listen to four speakers that were
great: Dr. Charles Chapple, Barbra Griffin, Linda
Marshall-Kramer, and Dr. Otto Kramer. As a chiropractor, I
have spent time reading the research on autism spectrum
disorders. All of these speakers did a great job of keeping
these topics at a level that is easy to understand. I spoke
with all speakers and they were great to talk to. I also
spoke with several parents, who had the highest compliments
for these speakers. They all provided great information
pertaining to alternative therapies and their level of
knowledge was amazing. Thank you again for a great seminar
and I certainly hope this will become a early event. Please
keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Todd Roach, D.C.
